CLEARFIELD - Shirley B. Laurence Simmons, 77, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 at her home.

She lived most of her life in the Clearfield and Syracuse area.

She was born September 14, 1934 in Richmond, Utah the daughter of Glen Rue and Eliza Bowcutt Laurence. Shirley attended Davis High School.

Shirley married Iven Leon Simmons on September 11, 1954 in Clearfield, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was a member of the Clearfield 12th Ward and was a talented pencil artist.

Surviving are her husband, Leon Simmons, Clearfield; son, Curtis Simmons, Syracuse; daughter, Julie (Glen) Bushman, Syracuse; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and sister, Bonnie Hamblin, Clearfield.

Preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Rue, Farrell, Vern and Phildon.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12 to 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
