Shirley Mae Barfuss Tarbet

LAYTON a€" Shirley Mae Barfuss Tarbet, 80, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Ogden Regional Hospital.

Shirley was born on January 27, 1929 in River Heights, Utah the daughter of Leo H. and Erma McNeil Barfuss.

She married Leeward Dahle Tarbet Jr. on November 4, 1965 in Sandy, Utah.

She is a member of the LDS Church in the Layton Fairfield 2nd Ward where she enjoyed service as a librarian and Relief Society Visitation Supervisor.

Shirley worked for many years as a school lunch cook at East Layton Elementary.

She was dedicated to her family, spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and spoiling her cats.

Surviving are her husband, Leeward Dahle Tarbet Jr., Layton; sons, Don H. (Carol) Burrell, Elk Grove, CA; Gary L. (Pam) Barfuss, Nibley; Walt (Nona) Mounir, Elk Grove, CA; Shane L. (Lisa) Tarbet, Roy; Todd L. Tarbet, Layton; daughter, Kim (Ott) Vongsavath, Clinton; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Paul Barfuss, Dell Barfuss, three sisters, Beverly Burkhart, Beth Blanchard and Joyce Murray.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leo Barfuss Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Snow Creek LDS Chapel, 845 No. 1150 E., Layton, Ut. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
