Shirley “Bebe” Mae Willis LAYTON – Shirley Mae Byrne Willis, 72, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at Rocky Mountain Care Center in Davis County. She was born June 15, 1936 in Ogden, a daughter of John James and Ada Georgia Wilson Byrne. On October 2, 1954, Shirley married Wesley Melvin Willis in Ogden. Melvin preceded her in death on July 3, 1987. Shirley enjoyed camping, fishing, was an avid gardener, loved plants and flowers. She also collected rocks, and enjoyed bowling. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Shirley worked as a bus aide for the Davis County School District. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Wesley D. (Sandy) Willis, Brett L. (Melinda) Willis, Pam Willis, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her mother, Ada Byrne, three brothers, Lewis Byrne, John Bryne, James Bryne, and four sisters, Pat Edwards, Ada Wise, Sherri Byrne, Bonnie Christian. She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Mae Shafer and her father John James Byrne The family gives special thanks to Dignity Home Health & Hospice and Rocky Mountain Care Center. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. and Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Send condolences to the family at: www.lindquistmortuary.com
