Shunji Jimmy Oda passed away on November 12, 2018. Jimmy was born on September 6, 1940 in Layton, Utah. He was the youngest son of Naokichi and Toshi Oda.

Jimmy had a passion for many things, but was most famous for his extravagant garden, amazing cooking, and bright smile that was contagious. He enjoyed fishing and traveling with family to experience all that the culinary world had to offer. He would then come home to re-create the delicious foods he’d discovered and share them with his loved ones.

Jimmy was preceded in death earlier this year by his beloved wife Mary, who he was married to for 57 years. They made their home in Layton Utah where they raised three girls. He is survived by his daughters, Shelly Oda, Dina (Scott) Allen, and Carrilyn Oda; granddaughters, Megan (Sam) and Alexa; siblings, Sam (Kemie) Oda and Kyoko (Mary) Mitamura; and in-laws, George Horiuchi, Dick (Judy) Horiuchi, Dorothy (Ted) Kondo, Jun (Carol) Horiuchi; and many nieces and nephews.
