Shyra Lynn Chavez

Shyra Lynn Chavez, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away after a courageous year-long battle with cervical cancer on April 12, 2025. She was 39.

Shyra’s spirit was a blend of kindness, creativity, and an unyielding generosity. A loving wife to her husband, Josh Chavez, Shyra devoted herself to her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She leaves behind her son, Axel; three daughters, Tayzin, Hayzel, and Kimbree; and two stepdaughters, Chloe and Taylor. Shyra’s children were the light of her life, and she poured love, joy, and care into creating memorable moments for them. Her enthusiasm for holidays—especially spooky season—brought warmth and excitement to her home. Whether it was crafting, decorating, or cooking fun holiday themed meals, Shyra made every celebration feel special.

Her love of nature was evident in the way she found peace and inspiration in the world around her. She saw beauty in the simplest things and had a way of bringing that beauty into everything she touched, whether in a craft, a meal, or in the care she gave others.

Shyra’s generosity was unmatched. Even during her toughest times, she was always ready to help others, offering support and love without hesitation. Her heart was as big as her smile, and her strength, even in the face of illness, was a testament to the power of her love and determination.

Shyra will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In her memory, a celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the mortuary.

Rest in peace, Shyra. You will forever be loved and never forgotten.
