Sigrid Alice Borine Jones

Sigrid Jones Sigrid Jones, 91, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2011in Roy, Utah. She was born November 27, 1919 in LaGrande, Oregon to Martin and Edna Borine. Sigrid lived in LaGrande, Oregon all her life, graduating from LaGrande High School. She married Wayne Jones July 24, 1940 and was the mother of two daughters, Cathie and Yolanda. She was a seamstress, sewing for the Grande Ronde Hospital and for many people throughout the valley. She and Wayne were active participating in; square dancing, horseshoe pitching and many activities with the Good Sam Group. They wintered in Arizona for 18 years. Sigrid was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, tatting and oil painting. She is survived by Cathie (Emery) Montoya, Yolanda (Kirk) Webster, nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, brother, sister and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the McAlister Lane Chapel in Island City. Friends may visit family one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment, Island City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
