Our precious son, brother and grandson, Skyler Bradley Shumway, quietly passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009 following a life long illness. His final time was spent surrounded by his family.
He was born August 27, 1996 to Danielle and Clinton Shumway. He was born with cerebral palsy. Skyler was a joy to his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard.
Although Skyler''s illness made him appear frail, he possessed an inner strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds. His short life was filled with the love of his family and friends. This last year Skyler struggled hard to spend more time with us, now it is our turn to let him rest and return him to his Savior.
Skyler attended Rocky Mountain Junior High school. His last month was spent at South Davis Community Hospital. He participated in the horse riding program and skiing programs. He was a member of the Catholic Church and Angel Hands Foundation.
He enjoyed cuddling close with his mother and brothers that he loved so much. He had a great sense of humor and especially enjoyed watching his younger brother, Kendrick in trouble. He enjoyed being outside and spending time with his family. Skyler will be missed everyday and forever remain in our hearts.
Skyler is survived by his loving parents, Danielle, Clinton, two brothers, Kendrick and Tristin Shumway, his grandparents, Mike and Eve Boyce, Bob and Cathy Heywood and Brad and Shirley Shumway.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Susan Stewart.
