Spencer Wayne Stockard

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, Spencer Wayne Stockard, husband, father of five, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, passed away unexpectedly.

Spencer was born at Hill Air Force Base Hospital in Clearfield, Utah on March 26, 1979 to Donald and VeraLee (Winward) Stockard.

Spencer grew up in Orderville, UT and graduated Valley High School playing bass guitar in his high school orchestra. After graduation, Spencer attended college before faithfully serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Germany Dusseldorf mission.

Spencer graduated from the Police Academy on January 6, 2004. For 17 years Spencer proudly worked at the Weber County Sheriff’s office achieving the rank of Sergeant while also enjoying the assignment of working with the Weber County Sheriff’s Honor Guard.

On June 5, 2010 Spencer married the love of his life, Kate (Thompson) Stockard and they were Sealed for all Eternity on October 26, 2012. Together they created five incredible children, Lauren (10), twins Vera and Avery (8), Emmalyn (7) and Ezra (5).

Spencer had a great smile; his eyes would light up whenever he would talk about his family. He was a loyal friend and advisor who loved fishing, wood working, smoking meats and spending time with his family. As an avid reader and a fierce patriot, Spencer had a passion for history and enjoyed educating others about what he had learned.

Spencer is survived by his wonderful wife Kate, their five beautiful children Lauren, Vera, Avery, Emmalyn and Ezra Stockard  of West Point, UT; his loving parents Donald and VeraLee Stockard of Roy, UT; brother Kevin Charles “KC” (Cindy) Stockard, niece Alex and nephew Hunter Stockard of Phoenix, AZ; as well as in-laws Richard and Karen Thompson, Shanea (Tim) Graham, Eric Pectol, Jana Glasmann, Ryan (Michelle) Pectol, Sheila Pectol, Benjamin Pectol, Brent (Chantelle) Pectol, Blake (Wendy) Thompson, Laura (Mitch) Jolley, and several nieces and nephews.

Spencer is preceded in death by his grandparents, and in-laws Jeromy Pectol and Cami Pectol

Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Due to Covid -19 Restrictions and masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, a charitable account has been set up in Spencer’s name for his family at America First Credit Union.
