Stanley Ned Bell

January 11, 1935 ~ August 28, 2105

Stanley, 80, passed away on August 28, 2015, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer; he was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Stan was born on January 11, 1935 to Neldon and Charlotte Bell in Grand Island, Nebraska. Stan joined the U.S. Army after high school; he served from February 1957 to 1960. When he returned he went to Weber College and received his Bachelor’s Degree. Stan worked as a police officer at DDO.

Stan married Renate Reuter on September 12, 1970 and became an amazing stepfather to her three boys. Stan’s grandchildren knew him as Opa. This last June, Stan took a trip back to Nebraska to see his grandson Dakota play baseball, and was able to see his house where he grew up. Stan enjoyed taking his granddaughter Brittnie shopping, and having his grandson Ryan take him to his doctor’s appointments.

Stan is survived by his wife, Renate; sons, James (Brandi) Bell, Curt Lund, Volkie (Dena) Lund; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Gerri Gibson; and brother, Boyd Bell.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Neldon and Charlotte; grandson, Justin; brother-in-law, Howard; and nephew, Stephen.

Family will meet with friends on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 Washington Blvd. Military Honors will be accorded at 2 p.m. at the Mortuary.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Harold Johnson and his staff, the nurses and McKay Dee Hospital fifth floor, Michelle, and Dr. McEntire from Intermountain Hospice. We would like to thank his sister Gerri for her support she has given us this past year.
