Stanley Allen Clontz

Our strong Marine that stood straight and tall passed away at his home, the home he and his son had built.
He was born in Ogden, Utah to Allen Russell Clontz and Dorothy Emily Hamblin.
Stan loved to learn. He went to college to learn several trades. He was always willing to help those who would ask.
Stanley served in the U.S. Marines as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War; retiring with 3 Purple Hearts and many medals.
He married Jo Ann East; they later divorced but remained good friends.
Stanley married Patricia Ann Archibald on November 14, 1975, sealing their marriage in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 28, 1995.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served faithfully in many callings, including Temple Worker.
He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 2003.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Patricia; his children, Sandra Jean (Kurt) Kocher, North Dakota; Sharlene (Mark) Baldwin, Orem; Terry Ann Bell, Clinton; Patricia Sue Murphy, Roy; Mary Lou (Rodney) Ficklin, Deer Creek; Thomas William Payne, Roy; 26 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Eldon Fackrell, Roy; and a sister-in-law, June Clontz, Riverdale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-daughter and son-in-law, Virgie (Bill) Mutsaers, son-in-law, Paul Bell, grandson, Tyler Mutsaers, great-granddaughter, Alaya Brisby, brother, Lonnie Clontz, sister, Jeanne Fackrell, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.
