Stanley John Racker
May 30, 1950 ~ July 12, 2017
Stanley John Racker was born May 30, 1950 in Ogden, Utah to Carl Racker and Ramona McKean the 4th of ten children. He passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his home. When Stan was in his 40’s, he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma two separate instances, and he battled it into remission both times. The extensive treatment from this type of cancer lead to numerous complications later in life.
Stan married Suzan Elaine Udink in 1971 and later he married Michele Oliver in 1992.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He grew up in the Roy 5th Ward and was most recently an active member of the Roy 27th Ward. He loved and served the Lord.
Stan built numerous friendships and throughout his life was loved by everyone he met. He graduated from Roy High School in 1968, where he played football and excelled in being a class clown.
He took great pride in his career. He worked for Western Auto, Union Pacific Railroad, Utah Highway Patrol as a state trooper, a security specialist at Questar Gas Company, and Weber County Sheriff’s office. He retired from Northwest Research in 2015.
He enjoyed being with his family and loved his parents. He could fix anything. He enjoyed showing his restored 1963 ½ Falcon Sprint Convertible, grilling steaks for family and friends, body building, oldies music, sports and supporting his kids and grandkids in all of their activities. He was a friend to all.
We will miss his fun loving personality, his smile and big loving heart.
Stan is survived by his children, Jake (Kresta) Racker , Carl Racker, Brad Racker, Abby Racker (Kenny) Gertge , Brandie Naylor, Stan Oliver; nine grandchildren; his siblings, Evan (Rhea), Beverly Wilkinson, Diane Donovan, Rob (Arlene), Annie (Gary) Robertson, Steve (Michelle), Joel (Stacy), and Brent; one sister-in-law, Alecia Racker.
