Stella Mae Alder Cole

Stella Mae Alder-Cole was born October 31, 1932, in Preston, Idaho to Melvin Paul Alder and Emma Chrisstella Jensen Alder, She passed away at her home Syracuse, Utah on September 9, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Jack. Daughter Nancy, granddaughter Courtney, and grandson Eric.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and sibling. As a small child she loved her Shetland pony named Becky. 

She amazed her family and friends with extensive knowledge and recall of family members’ birthdays. It was the highlight at our yearly reunion.

She found joy in being with her family. She loved spending time solving word search puzzles, even up to the day she passed away. She was obsessed with her favorite movie “The Sound of Music.” We played it continuously in the months prior to her death.

She is survived by her children; Cheryl Murphy (Vince), Janet Chase (James), Ernest Felix (Sheri), Valerie O’Bryan (Daniel), her 22 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.

Stella was a shining example of love and goodness.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 21, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, Syracuse, Utah. Family may visit with friends Saturday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the service at the mortuary.
