Stephen Parley Brown, 67, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017.  He was born on April 3, 1950 in Salt Lake City, UT.  He was raised in Layton and graduated from  Davis High School Class of 1968.  Stephen served a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweden.

In 1976, Stephen met Meta T. Mickelson.  They courted for several years and were married for time and all eternity on June 30, 1979 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He sang and she played in the Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus.  He and Meta raised four wonderful children in Ogden together.

Stephen graduated from WSC and worked for several local firms in aerospace engineering technology and in research and development of medical devices.  He also worked as a computer technician and a Quality Engineer. He retired in 2012.

He loved music and participated in choir and served as a chorister in his ward as well as various other callings.

Stephen loved computers and automobiles and had an innate ability for efficient electronic design.  He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and tennis, and was an avid ping pong player.

He will be remembered most as a patient, quiet, gentle, and loving man of good humor, who enjoyed his family and didn’t complain about being the family taxi driver.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Meta; his children, Spencer Brown, Julie and Emmanuel Aguebor, Teresa and Jeremy Wilson, and David Keith Brown; his grandson, Alexander Brown; his father, Keith X Brown; his siblings, Vivien and Bob Cannon, Dianne and Mark Lindeman, Marsha and Fred Boam, Clifton and Pam Brown, Janice and Reid Wiberg, Jeff and Judy Brown, (Caroline deceased) and Clyde Lindeman, and (Joyce deceased) and Clark Parkinson, his step-siblings Brett and Barbie Faust, Aleta Hallman, (Damon deceased) and Barbara Faust, and Cynthia and Gene Horne.  He is also survived by good friends, Paul and Sheryl Sain.

He was preceded in death by his mother, DeLell Monson Brown and his stepmother, Lani K. Faust Brown.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment will be held on Tuesday, May 30th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
