SOUTH OGDEN a€" Chris Jones, 51, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City of heart disease.

He was born January 27, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa, a son of Jesse Claire and Ione Juanita Blacketer Jones. He was an honor graduate from the University of Texas Permian Basin and a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Chris was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many church assignments including Elder''s Quorum President. He was a most faithful home teacher. We will miss his words, his wit, and his willingness to serve.

He was a technical writer in the mass communications industry.

Chris was a life-long learner who enjoyed the power of words. Music was important to him and he was a perineal member of the church choir. The loves of Chris'' life were his two daughters, Sara and Charlotte. His face would light up as he spoke of them.

Surviving are his two daughters, Sara and Charlotte Jones of Ogden.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday on 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.

Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
