Stephen Lockhart

Stephen Christopher Lockhart was born on August 4, 1975 in Greenville, South Carolina and passed away on August 31, 2018 at the age of 43.

Steve graduated from Bob Jones Academy and Clemson University with a degree in electrical engineering.  After college, Steve joined Lockheed Martin and worked on the F-22 program as a systems engineer and was recognized for his expertise and willingness to help others by sharing his avionics knowledge.  Steve enjoyed outdoor activities and travel.  He especially enjoyed hiking the many trails in Utah and visiting national parks.  His favorite parks were Arches, Yellowstone, and Redwood.  He enjoyed exploring the West with friends and family.

Steve was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and especially enjoyed his time with his life group who met at his house each week for Bible study and fellowship.  He greatly appreciated his life group friends and the encouragement and support they provided.

Steve was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  His friendly smile and warm hug will be greatly missed.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Sarah and daughter Rachel.  He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Nell Lockhart, sister, Lisa Lockhart, niece, Emma Bondy, and nephew Will Bondy, father-in-law, Allan Trotter and mother-in-law, Barbara Trotter.

Steve is preceded in death by his grandparents Estella and Clarence Lockhart and Gary and Corrie Cooper.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
