Stephen “Steve” Foster Lund

Stephen “Steve” Foster Lund, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19th, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born January 13th, 1948 to Thomas G. Lund and Kaye Foster Lund in Bountiful, Utah.

Steve was a very patriotic man who loved his country. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years and received the Commendation Medal for his service. Steve was also awarded a purple heart for his service in Vietnam. While stationed in Alaska, Steve rescued two students who were stranded in a crevasse on Eklutna Glacier. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 1971, he worked for the Department of Defense for 37 years.

In his free time, Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing, flying, hang gliding, camping and anything else that meant he could be outdoors and enjoying nature. He was never afraid of hard work and built his own home from the ground up. Steve was always quick to crack a joke or tell an amazing story (and you’d never know if it was true or not). Steve’s family meant everything to him, and he would always go out of his way to help in any way he could.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Kaye Lund, his brother Thomas, and his daughter, Angie. Steve is survived by his wife Jeanie, his brother Mike, his sons Bret (Becky), Dallas (Nicki), Tom “Shine” (Joe Anna), and many grandchildren. He has touched the lives of many and will be sorely missed.

A viewing is scheduled for Thursday, September 26th from 6-8pm at Lindquist’s  Bountiful Mortuary.  All are welcome.
