CLEARFIELD a€" Stephen C. McClain, 55, passed away on May 3, 2007 peacefully at his home.

He was born December 27, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona the son of David Robert and Fonda Gloria Hancock McClain.

Stephen spent most of his life in Utah with the exception of serving two tours of duty in Germany and one in Vietnam during the war.

He married Joan C. Woodward on October 29, 1971 in Nellingan, Germany.

He retired from HAFB after 25 years as an aircraft mechanic.

Stephen loved the great outdoors. His favorite activities were hunting, camping and fishing.

Surviving are his wife Joan, three sons Michael, So. Ogden; Travis (Kris), Nicholaus (Mindy), Clearfield; seven grandchildren, four brothers, Mick, David, Paul, James, two sisters, Patricia and Bonnie.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
