Stephen C. Merrill passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born November 29, 1977 in Helena, Montana to Virgil A. and Marillynn Guay Merrill.

He graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in Medical Technology and Microbiology. He was commissioned as an officer in the Montana National Guard.

On July 2, 1999, Steve married Deborah Winkler in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Cardston, Alberta Canada LDS Temple on January 15, 2000.

He was a member of the LDS Church where he served as the Stake Young Men''s Secretary.

Steve was currently a Blackhawk Helicopter Pilot and a ROTC recruiter at Weber State University.

He loved spending time with his family. Steve was a huge Griz fan and he enjoyed skiing, rafting, boating and hiking.

Steve is survived by his wife, Deborah, one daughter, Loryn, 11, four sons, Lance, 9, Jason, 6, Logan, 4 and Dylon, 2; his mother, Marillynn; and two sisters, Penny (Bill) Huxtable and Karin (John) Quigley.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31st at 11 a.m. at the Roy 2nd Ward Chapel, 5127 South 2400 West. The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
