Stephen Kent Paskins

Stephen Kent Paskins, 72, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016.  He was born on February 6, 1944 in Preston, Idaho, the son of Edward Alonzo and Celia Packer Johnson Paskins.

He married Velma Joyce Firestone on August 4, 1967 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Kent developed and directed the Police Academy at Weber State until his retirement in 2006.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings.  As a young man he served a mission in Texas and later with his wife in Waveland Mississippi.

Kent loved scouting and served as Scout Master.  He enjoyed golfing and biking.

Kent is survived by his wife, Joy Paskins; children, Shawn (Tami) Paskins, Ryan (Sally) Paskins, Holly (Ryan) Freeman, and Robyn (David) Button; 13 grandchildren, and siblings, Bart Paskins, Bonnie (Jay) Christensen, and Glenna (Bruce) Jensen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. the Kingston Ward Chapel, 1425 Kingston Dr., Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
