Stephen L Pettegrew

Stephen L Pettegrew was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Donald Eugene Pettegrew and Afton Lovell on October 1, 1963. He was the youngest of six children and showed strength and determination from the start. He married Lorretta Dorrity Hess with whom he shares four children- Kambrey, Skyler (Scott), Riley (Savigny), and Brayson. He later married Rhonda Orton, where he gained three step children - Marinda (Chris), Bobby (Alyssa), and Kelsey (Joshua).

Steve was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he held many callings over the years and served a mission in the California, Los Angeles mission. 

He enjoyed caring for his plants, fishing, BYU football, and traveling (especially to the beach), and supporting his kids and grandkids in their endeavors. He also had a great sense of humor and told the best Dad jokes. But spending time with his wife, children, and soon to be thirteen grandchildren, was his favorite thing of all. 

He was an example to many of what it means to persevere and overcome trials, during his countless hospitalizations, many surgeries, including two liver transplants and a kidney transplant. He is survived by his wife Rhonda, children, grandchildren, siblings, and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 6-8pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah. Funeral Services will follow at the same location on Tuesday at 11:00 am where family and friends may visit from 9:30-10:30am prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
