Stephen Douglas Randolph, 76, of Syracuse, Utah, passed away on April 21, 2024, after succumbing to natural causes. He was born on September 13, 1947, to Albert Douglas Randolph and Eva Jean Randolph Law in Ogden, Utah.
He was an avid sports fan and excelled in baseball that he learned from his stepfather John Law who raised him. John was an avid baseball fan who really took the time and effort to teach Stephen the game. Baseball was a passion of both of theirs. During high school his team was the State Champions of Utah in 1964 at Clearfield High School. As a left-handed pitcher and switch hitter, he took pride in challenging opposing players.
Stephen married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Lucielle Durst, and they both worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington.
Stephen and Sharon had two children, Joel Randolph Collett, Ogden, Utah; and Jody Randolph Collett Hoegstedt, Everett, Washington.
After moving back to Utah, Stephen worked for several decades in construction as a contractor. He set up and prepared mobile homes, was a carpet layer, and did many carpentry jobs in the construction field.
Those who knew Stephen knew he was free spirited, independent minded and self-determined. He had very high intelligence and was a kind, compassionate soul who was generous and helpful to his neighbors and friends. He remained playful and jovial his entire life making his family and friends laugh with his jokes and stories.
Stephen is survived by his two children, Joel and Jody; three grandchildren, Karl Hoegstedt, Isabella Hoegstedt Fuenzalida and Analie Hoegstedt; and three sisters, Sandra Randolph (Gene) Dahl, Debra Law (Chad) Stark, and Jone Law Koford.. He was preceded in death by both parents and his stepfather, John Law.
Interment will be at the Syracuse City Cemetery.
