Stephen Wilhelmsen

Stephen Lee Wilhelmsen, Layton UT

August 12, 1946 – June 25, 2016

Our dear husband, father, grandfather (PaPa), and brother passed suddenly late Saturday.  Born the first child of Bruce & Virginia Wilhelmsen in Salt Lake City at LDS Hospital.  Steve grew up in SLC and Layton, and graduated from Davis High School, class of 1964.  Steve proudly joined the US Marine Corps with a buddy in 1966, serving one tour in Vietnam with the 3rd Battalion 7th Marines.  He formed lifelong bonds with friendships that continue on with his family.

Soon after returning from war he began dating and married the love of his life, Dorothy Biesecker Wilhelmsen in 1969 and was a supportive and loving husband.  A true gentleman and fine example for his children, friends and family.  Steve and Dorothy began their family in 1970 and remained in Layton.

Steve worked and retired from Civil Service in 2002, then began his own business as a locksmith which made him so happy through his last day.

He is survived by wife, Dorothy, children Adrian (Wendy), Crystal (Stuart Smith); granddaughters Hannah & Camille, Zoie & Gillian Dowdy; brother Roger (Callie), and sister Jean.

“PaPa loved his grand-girls!”  Semper Fi!  We will love you always.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Rd. Layton.  Friends may meet with family from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. prior to the service.
