Sterling Harold Roylance passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011.

He was born at home in Wilson Lane, on September 26, 1930 to Harold Lorenzo and Janetta Ferrin Roylance, the fifth of 11 children.

Sterling married the love of his life, Colleen Annie Hart on July 8, 1955. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on December 2, 2000.

He graduated from Weber High School in 1948. He served four years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. When he returned home, he graduated from Stevens Henagar College. After graduating from college, he went to work for the Weber County Clerk''s Office. In November 1961, he went to work at Hill Air Force Base where he retired after 26 years of service.

Dad enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and woodworking. He loved spending time with his family. He also loved feeding and watching the birds in his yard. Many people loved him and we will miss him tremendously. The best honor we can give him is to live our lives according to the example he set for us.

Sterling is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Colleen; their daughters, Loree Clark, Becky (Doug) Wolfe, Judy (Casey) Allred, Annette (Russell) Murray; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, and three brothers. His parents, and three sisters, Wanda, Marjorie and Hazel, preceded him in death.

The family would like to thank the staff of Community Nursing Services for the loving and kind care they provided.

The family will meet with friends on Tuesday, January 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Respecting his wishes, a private service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, where Military Honors will be accorded.
