Steven Emil Barton

Steven Emil Barton, 73, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012.

He was born June 10, 1939 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donald William and June Stevenson Barton. He was raised and educated in Farmington. He also lived in Syracuse before moving to Roy.

Steve served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1957 to 1960.

On May 16, 1979, Steve married Carol Ann Heugly in Salt Lake City.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Steve was a loving grandpa and will continue to watch over us.

He loved fishing, hunting, his horses, raising cattle and lecturing everyone on money. "Our cowboy''s horse had his last gallop."

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carol Ann Barton, Roy; sons, Don Walter "DW" Barton and James Lee "JL" Barton, both of Roy; daughters, Leslie Carol Barton Payne (Scott), Kaylie Grace-June Barton (Coleman Payne), Stephanie Astle; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Goldie Couch, and one grandson, Hunter Scott Payne.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27th at 2 p.m. at the Roy 14th Ward Chapel, 5850 South 2575 West.

The family will meet with friends Thursday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
