SYRACUSE, UTAH - Steven William Booth, 63, died at his home Monday, May 31, 2010 after a 3 A½ year battle with cancer.

He was born October 23rd, 1946 in Union (now Midvale) Utah to William Harvey Booth and Beth LuDeen Burgon.

He was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple to his sweetheart Susan Lee Hughes and she was still by his side 41 years later as he passed from this world. Steve and Susan were blessed with four children, Jeff, Jason, Kerri, and Tom. Steve and Susan had lived in Orem, Utah, Stanton, Virginia, Phoenix, Arizona, and Thatcher, Idaho before settling in Syracuse.

Steve loved his ten years on the Caribou Ranch in Idaho and spoke of it often. He felt like he was born to be a cowboy. Steve worked as an aerospace engineer at Hill Air Force Base and retired after 23 years.

Steve was a member of the Syracuse Trailside LDS Ward. He served in many callings including Stake High Council, a member of the bishopric, and many teaching positions. He excelled at teaching the Gospel. Steve served an LDS mission for 2 A½ yrs in the whole area of Japan.

He was a member of the Davis County Sheriff''s Mounted Posse for 20 years and enjoyed his frequent service outings with them on his "worthless" horse Murphy. He was also a member of the Utah Western Riding Club Association. Aside from his great love for family and friends Steve loved model trains, horses, and Ford Mustangs.

He is survived by his mother Beth, his sister''s Marne'' and Lori, his brothers Brian and Kelly, his wife Susan, his children, Jeff (Emma), Jason (Jeanne), Kerri, and Tom (Dayna) and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father William H Booth and his brother Jerry.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Trailside Ward Chapel, 2887 W. 2700 So., Syracuse, UT. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Hospice of Utah and the many doctors and nurses who provided care for Steven.
