Steven Christensen

Steven Jay Christensen passed away peacefully in his home in Ogden, Utah on Sunday, September 28, 2014.  Steven was born to Jay and LaReta Stewart Christensen on June 6, 1950 in Ogden, Utah.

He is survived by his siblings:  Elaine (Darrell), Gary (Karen), Stewart, and a sister-in-law, Debbie.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Roger.

He was a good son, a good brother, a good uncle, and friend to many. He was known as “Uncle Steven” by 12 nieces and nephews and 34 great nieces and nephews.  Many of the greats were given a name of endearment by him.  He loved children, especially the new babies, which he held for hours.

Steven was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He lived most of his life in Layton, graduating from Davis High School.  He was a hard worker, working for many people and places, including Syro Steel, and the Davis County School District.

Special thanks is given to his niece, Marci, who let him rent part of her home and to the good friends whom he lived near in the Victoria Ridge Retirement Apartments in Ogden.  Special thanks to his sister-in-law, Karen, for feeding him at family dinners.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 5 p.m. at the Layton Commons Park Bowery, 437 No. Wasatch Drive, Layton.

Inurnment will be at the Fairview, Utah Cemetery, where he will be buried near his parents, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or other gifts, please give to the Utah Food Bank.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
