Steven Merle Coley, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 1, 2023. He was born in Lewiston, UT, on November 18, 1940, the son of LeRoy Stewart "Jake" and Lola Richardson Coley. He served his country in the Navy from 1958 to 1961.
He married Nancy Faye Kalousek on August 12, 1972. They were sealed together on August 12, 2015 in the LDS Temple. Steven was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Steven worked for Amalgamated Sugar Company for 42 years and was a purchasing specialist when he retired.
He loved his kids and grandkids. He was a big jokester and loved to flirt. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, gardening, metal detecting, fishing, camping at High Creek, and the trips to the Oregon Coast.
Steven is survived by his wife, Nancy Coley; children, Lori Cassity, Lyra (Deny) Yamasaki, Russel Coley, Tyler Coley, and Matthew (Channing) Coley; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Verle; and sisters, Vonda (Dick) Collins and Patsy (Terry) Done. He was preceded in death by his infant granddaughter, Morgan; parents; brothers, Thomas J. and Stewart LeRoy; and sister, Jeneane.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
The family would like to thank Stonehenge Care Center and extend gratitude for the care that dad received from the staff at McKay Dee Hospital, especially the ICU staff.
