Steven Gerald Kops, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on June 23, 2023, at the age of 68 in Ogden, Utah. Born on September 11, 1954, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Leroy Kops and Shirley Young Kops.
Steven met a beautiful woman, Patty Worden, and in 1982, they were married. Together they had three children: Nathan, Ryan, and Jennifer. Steven and Patty later divorced.
Throughout his life, Steven constantly went above and beyond to ensure the well-being and safety of his loved ones. His unwavering love and support were the foundation upon which his family thrived.
Steven adored spending time with his grandkids who held a special place in his heart. His role as a grandfather brought immense joy into his life; he strived to be the best grandpa in the world.
Outside of his family life, Steven had several hobbies and interests that brought him immense satisfaction. He had a profound love for nature and enjoyed fishing trips, camping adventures, and riding motorcycles along scenic routes. Additionally, he was an avid football fan who passionately supported his favorite team, the Green Bay Packers.
In addition to being survived by Patty Kops, his ex-wife with whom he shared many precious memories throughout their journey together as partners and parents; Steven's legacy lives on through his children: Nathan Arlen Kops, Ryan Lee Kops, and Jennifer Faye Kops; and his grandchildren: Adalie, Nova, and Paisley. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Rania) Kops, James Kops, and Michael (Chris) Kops; his sister, Sandra (Steve) Rodriguez; his uncle; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. His passing leaves behind a void in their lives that can never be filled.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Shirley Kops.
Steven's kindness and selflessness touched the lives of his family and friends, and he will be profoundly missed. As we say our temporary goodbyes, we know that it is not an end but a "see you later."
