Steven Mark Guy

Steven Mark Guy, 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Ogden Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.  Steven was born to James Callen and Frances Roberta Guy on December 2, 1956 in Ogden, Utah three minutes after his twin brother, Stanley.  He grew up in Washington Terrace and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1975.  He attended Utah State University and graduated with a degree in accounting.

While at Utah State, he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served as a missionary in the England Bristol Mission.  He was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many callings including Elders Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, and Executive Secretary.  He was a good example of living the gospel.

He married Shirley Dahl on June 27, 1986 in the Ogden LDS Temple.  They made their home in West Point for the first four years of their marriage, then moved to South Ogden where they have resided for the past 26 years.  Steve and Shirley were blessed with two daughters, Allison and Erin.  Their home life was happy and free from contention.

Steve was a mild-mannered and gentle man.  He loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed anything science fiction.  He worked as an accountant, and at the time of his passing was the treasurer of Draper City.

Steve is survived by his wife, Shirley and daughters, Allison and Erin all of South Ogden.  He is also survived by his siblings, Frances Gray, Washington Terrace; Wayne (Deena) Guy, Riverdale; Debbie (Tony) Hain, Woodinville, WA; Stan (Susan) Guy, North Logan; and many loving nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters-in-law.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Callen and Roberta as well as his inlaws, Blair and Ilene Dahl.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 7th Ward, 720 Nancy Drive.  Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, West Point Cemetery.
