Steven Kay Hadley
LAYTON – Steven Kay Hadley, 61, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, July 17, 2010. He was born on January 6, 1949 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Edward Perry and Lillian Baker Hadley. He married Gloria Penera on August 10, 1972 in Angeles City, Philippines.
Steven retired after over 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force, and more recently worked as a Veterans Representative for the Department of Work Force Services. He was Catholic and attended the Christ Prince of Peace Church at HAFB and was active in the church ministries.
He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and enjoyed football and fishing.
Steven is survived by his wife, Gloria, children, Maria Felisa (Scott) Wolfe, Maria Helen (Todd) Hanson, Michael Steven (Kim), and Kevin Kay; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; 3 brothers, Doug, Roger, Kevin, and 2 sisters, Carol and Judy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward and sister, Peggy.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. the Hill Air Force Base Chapel. Friends and family may visit on Thursday, at the Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., from 6 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Interment, Rose Hills Cemetery, Idaho Falls, ID.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the George E. Wahlen Veterans Nursing Home in Ogden, Utah. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff working the University of Utah Intensive Care Unit and the Special Care Unit of the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Steven will be greatly missed by his family and friends. “We love you, Papa!”
