Steven J. Morton

Steven J Morton of Layton, Utah, passed away on October 28, 2024 at age 65.

 He was born on November 14, 1958 in Ogden Utah, the son of Waynard G Morton and Bonnie Morton.

 He grew up in Kaysville, Utah in the home his dad built. He graduated from Davis High School in 1977 and Weber State University in 1984 with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. After graduating, he went to work at Morton Thiokol where he worked for 36 years before retiring from Northrop Grumman in 2020.

 He married Marcia Heywood in July of 1987 in Ogden, Utah. They moved to Layton Utah and he lived there until his death.

 Steve loved to travel and spend time with his family. He loved the outdoors, including camping, hiking and off-roading. 

 He is survived by his wife, Marcia, son Chad (Emily) Brockbrader, daughter Lindsey (Darvin) Williams, brothers Brian (Beverly) Morton, Jerald (Kristie) Morton, Gregory (April) Morton, four grandchildren, a sister in law, Bev Reinhold, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents.

 There will be a Visitation on Tuesday November 5, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.at the Layton Lindquist’s Mortuary at 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Layton, Utah 84041. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday November 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E Crestwood Rd, Kaysville, Utah 84037.
