Steven Thaxton Parker 12/12/1966 ~ 11/28/2013

Steven Thaxton Parker passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013.

Steven was born to Gerald and Helen Parker on December 12, 1966 in Ogden, Utah. As the fourth child, and first son, he was a darling little boy, loved and adored by his parents and sisters.

He loved Ogden, Snow Basin, Lake Powell, the cabin, and Hong Kong where he served an LDS mission. He received a love of water and snow skiing from his father and passed these on to his children. He did not acquire handyman skills from his father, but he learned them on his own, and blessed his family almost daily with his abilities to fix and repair.

He was bright, engaging and interesting. He liked people and they liked him. He shared an impressive and eclectic music collection; he appreciated cinemaa"how life could be captured and delivered on film. He graduated from Weber High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Weber State University, and graduated from Mt. Hood College of Mortuary Science in Oregon.

Steven married the love of his life, Julie Criger in 1995. They were sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple. When he announced his engagement, he said that he was as much in love with her son, Dillon, as he was with Julie. Steven adored his daughters Wren and Avery. He called them the light of his existence. They adored him. He was their first love and biggest hero.

Steven combined an unusual group of interests into a fulfilling career. He worked at Nordstrom and cared about appearance; he had wonderful empathic abilities; his work at McKay-Dee Hospital gave him an appreciation of medical skill and love of anatomy. He became a funeral director at Lindquist Mortuary where all of these became important in the service he provided families during times of grief. We have received countless expressions of gratitude from those he served.

Steven is survived by Julie, Dillon, Wren and Avery, his mother Helen and sisters Stephanie (Thomas) Johnson, Freia (Kirk) Jenkins, Geralyn (David) Perkins and Erin (Jason) Hale.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Burch Creek 3rd Ward, 5161 South 1300 East, South Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment, Riverton City Cemetery.
