Steven Robert “Bob” Simmons

Our Father, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, and friend passed away at his son’s home November 18, 2014. Bob was born in Salt Lake City on October 20, 1942 to Dean and Lorlee Simmons. He married the love of his life, Sandra Turner, November 1, 1963. They enjoyed 50 wonderful years together. Bob worked for the post office as a carrier, clerk, assistant postmaster and postmaster. After he retired he worked as the playground monitor at Bluff Ridge Elementary. Bob loved working at the post office, but he especially loved his job at the school and the children he served. Bob will be remembered for his delightful sense of humor, his contagious laugh, his love of baseball, hotdogs and all things American. He was known for his strong work ethic and integrity. He had a deep and abiding testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. Bob was especially devoted to his family. He sacrificed much so that his family would be happy. He was loved by all who knew him and he will be deeply missed.

Bob was preceded by his wife, his parents and his sister-in-law Jeanie Simmons. He is survived by his children Scott (Nancy) Simmons, Schalane (Rodney) Peterson, his grandchildren Sarah (Aaron) Dupaix, Katelyn Peterson, Mckenna Peterson, Tayler Peterson, Matthew Simmons, and Luke Simmons, his brother Bill Simmons, and his sister LeeAnn Puzey.
