Steven Daniel Smith
Our beloved son, husband, father and friend, Steven Daniel Smith, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2017, in Bountiful, Utah. Steve was born January 11, 1974, in the South Davis Community Hospital, to Clair Bingham Smith and Darlene Sherwood Smith. He attended Bountiful schools where he formed many cherished friendships. He was a member of the LDS Church, and a lifelong resident of Bountiful.
Steve married his best friend and the love of his life Tiffany on September 9, 2009. Although they never had kids of their own, Steve was an amazing step-father/friend to Micheal (Tiffany’s son). Steve truly loved his family, and his fur buddies, the family cat menagerie, George, Baloo, Zorro, and Maverick. Zorro fancied himself Steve's personal cat and followed him everywhere.
Steve was an active, hardworking family man. From a very young age he followed his Dad around with his 'mower' as he and Dad groomed the family yard. By the age of 9 he was being paid to mow the lawns of neighbors. His love of engines led him to driving every kind of heavy equipment possible. He loved what he did as a master at pouring concrete as well as many other things.
Steve's entrepreneurial spirit led him to start up an onsite small engine repair service, and later on, a sprinkling system business. He loved working outdoors, took great pride in having a great looking yard and in stringing up an unbelievable array of Christmas lights on our home during the holiday season.
He loved good food and could grill up a mean burger. Dutch oven cooking was something his father-in-law, Roger B, introduced him to. They cooked up many tasty dishes; Steve looked up to him for cooking and other advice.
Steve is survived by his loving wife and best friend Tiffany, his step son Micheal Lovell, his son Shane Smith (from a previous marriage), parents, brothers, David C. Smith (Janine), James S. Smith (Anne Marie), and his sister, Lesli. Cedric Whittington and Nicole Knowlden are also very dear to his heart as well as many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., on Saturday April 1st 2017 at 2pm, visitation from 1-2pm. Condolence may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com .
