Steven Timpson Thorpe, 69, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Davis Hospital. He was born December 30, 1944 in Ogden, Utah to Lorin and Lyle Timpson Thorpe. He attended Bonneville High School and graduated from Upper Darby High School in Pennsylvania. On September 6, 1971, Steven married Joyce Robinson in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as a High Priest, Stake Missionary and First Counselor in the High Priest Group. He retired as a Civil Service employee from HAFB after 33 ½ years. Steven was a great pool player and had the distinction of dancing on American Bandstand. He loved fishing and was a gun enthusiast. He also enjoyed car shows, sports, hunting and gardening. He especially loved the time spent with his grandkids. Steven is survived by his wife Joyce; their children, Ricky Jay, Roy; Matthew (Jamie) Thorpe, Roy; Julie (Paul) Ray, Clinton; Candace Rickard, Roy; Suzie (Brian) Rasband, Syracuse; Tara Olsen, Spanish Fork; Angela (Greg) Shepherd, Farr West; 23 ½ grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one sister, Sally (Robert) Bills, Ogden. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Wayne, two sisters, Darlene Power, Louise Rothaker, and one grandson, Taylor. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 13th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
