STEVEN LYNN TURNER

1936-2014

Steven Lynn Turner passed away May 1, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, in Woods Cross, Utah.  He was born in Salt Lake City on July 27, 1936 to Lucile Pulver and Joseph Daril Turner.  He married Joyce Emeline Bond on October 4, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Steven graduated from South High and has lived in SLC, Kearns and in Woods Cross for the past 50 years.  He worked as a machinist for UPRR for 43 years and was a board member of the Pacific Rail Credit Union.  He also served in the Utah National Guard.  As a faithful member of the LDS Church, he served as a missionary and in various callings in his ward, including Scout Master and Executive Secretary.

Steve is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters; Jeffery (Barbara) Turner, Carrie (J.L.) Kamerath, Leslie (Michael) Brinkerhoff, David (Heather) Turner; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 4 sisters; Shirley (Jerry) Dunn, Barbara (Gerald) Lloyd, Gayle (Hans) Flink, Lee (Amy) Turner, Diane (Michael) Wright and his Aunt, Kay Roesbery.  Preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Woods Cross 1 st Ward Chapel 2064 S. 800 W. Woods Cross, UT.  Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. and from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.  Condolences may be shared at www.lindquistmortuary.com
