Steven B. (Honk) Walker
Steven (Honk) Walker, 70, passed away on April 10, 2015 at his home in Farmington, Utah.
Honk was born on February 6, 1945 to Max and Elaine Barnes Walker. He was raised in the Monkey Town section of Pleasant Grove. He got the nickname Honker early in elementary school and it stuck. After graduating from Pleasant Grove High School in 1963 he attended the Utah Trade Tech in Provo. He then enlisted in the US Navy where he served as an aviation electronics technician aboard the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War. He spent the majority of his career as a technician for Philips Medical Systems maintaining CT and MRI equipment.
Steven enjoyed many things in life. In his younger years he was an excellent fast-pitch softball pitcher and even pitched a no-hitter game. He loved camping and fly-fishing, especially floating the Green. He enjoyed playing golf and loved his Sunday golf group. He loved going to any venue to listen to country music. He always had numerous projects going – He could bring anything in for under a thousand, but there was nothing he could not fix, especially with his little Buddy, G2 (one of his grandsons).
Steve married twice. Sherry Caporali and then Joan Higgins Thompson “My Joanie” whom he remained married to until his passing. They both survive him.
Steve is survived by his sons Christopher ( Melinda), Sean, Quinn, Wade (LeAnn), of whom he was so proud, they brought him great joy and wonderful grandchildren; his two sisters, Karen Greening and Janet Harris, and brother Robert Walker; Joan’s sons Craig and Glenn (Francie); grandsons G2 ‘Clayton’ and Bubba ‘Cache’. His spirit will be greatly missed.
Please feel free to join these celebrations of his life; Thursday the 16th of April at 761 W 2310 N Pleasant Grove, Utah 6-9 PM and Friday the 17th of April at his home, 710 S 650 W Farmington, Utah 5-9 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary.
