Stirling Kelso, a beloved member of our community, departed from this earthly realm on October 30, 2024, due to a tragic accident. He was born on September 7, 1961, to Ted and LeReta Hill Kelso. Stirling attended Ben Lomond High School where his friendly disposition and helpful nature created many friendships.
He graduated from Ogden Technical Training school, Stirling carried his education with him as he ventured into the working world. He worked as a janitor at Hill Field and took on various odd jobs around town, embodying a spirit of versatility and hard work. Often described as a man who wore many hats, he approached every task with diligence.
Stirling married Katherine LaMay Foulger on December 2, 2016, in Sunset Utah.
Stirling was known for his extremely friendly demeanor and a genuine willingness to help others. His warm personality made him a cherished member of the community, always lending a hand when needed. Stirling cherished his brothers, his mother, and his father, often expressing how he would do anything for them. This unwavering support and devotion defined his character and left a legacy of love that will be remembered fondly by all he touched.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Stirling delighted in hunting and fishing, finding joy and peace in nature. He was also a master tinkerer, possessed with the unique ability to repair anything that required fixing, whether it was small engines or bicycles. His skills were not just practical; they reflected his inventive spirit and desire to make things work better, benefiting both himself and those around him.
Stirling Kelso’s warmth, friendly spirit, and dedication to family will always be remembered. He has left a profound impact on those who were fortunate to know him. His memory will remain a treasured part of the lives he enriched through his kindness.
Stirling is survived by his wife Katherine, children: Joshua Kelso, Misty Kelso, Amy Kelso, Ashlie East, Frederic East, Nicole East, Steven East, Bryce East and 2 grandchildren. Also survived by brothers: Monte (Charline) Kelso, Dan (Bonnie) Kelso and Jay (Marlene) Kelso, sisters-in-law Cherie Kelso and Shanna Kelso, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Darwin Kelso and DeWayne Kelso.
