Stuart Kirk Mattson, 66, passed away on Monday November 18, 2024, at McKay-Dee Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1958 in Ogden, Utah, to Louis and Lavay Mattson. He graduated from Roy High School in 1976.
Stuart was a Brick mason in his younger years and then worked at Autoliv for over 20 years as an Automation Mechanic.
He married Wendy Naylin in Ogden, Utah. They built a home in West Haven and raised Wendy's two children Kensley and Kestin as his own. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to support and love them. They as a family had many great camping, fishing and ATV trips to Christmas Meadows and Blacksmith Fork Canyon. They later divorced but remained best friends.
Stuart loved taking doughnuts and chocolate milk to his grandkids. He had a special bond with Annie, Avery and Brynnlie, they were his only girls for many years.
He later married Susan Rasmussen, whom he truly cared for.
Stuart loved the outdoors, his horses, hunting, skiing, fishing, his Harley Davidson and anything adventurous! He was a jack of all trades and could build and repair most anything.
Stuart is survived by his daughter Kensley (Jason) Moss (Annie, Avery and Owen), his sister Laura Williams, his niece Holly Ahern and nephews Christopher and Matthew Williams. Also extended family, Wendy (Jodi) Naylin, Trent (Brooke) Dykster (Zoey and Berklee), Bryson (Nicole) Dykster (Brynnlie, Karsyn and Skylar). He was preceded in death by his boy Kestin Page and his parents.
The family would like to thank the neighbors and friends who supported Stu through the years.
Stuart will be placed at Lindquist Memorial Gardens the Wasatch with his parents at a later date.
