Stuart Ray “Chief” Parker
February 28, 1961 – September 5, 2014
OGDEN – Stuart Ray “Chief” Parker, 53, of Ogden, passed away of natural causes in his home on September 5, 2014 following an extended illness. Born on February 28, 1961 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he was soon adopted and raised in Hooper as the second of three children of Boyd George and Mary" Joan" McEntire Parker.
Chief lived his whole life in Weber County, although he often worked away from home during his younger years. His work included service on oil rigs, as a mechanic and vehicle operator, but a highlight for him was working in road construction and particularly as an explosives engineer.
Chief was married and divorced, but was always a big part of his son’s lives. Like most everyone, he struggled at times in life but he never gave up hope on himself or on his family or in his faith.
Chief’s health declined in recent years and he spent the latter part of his life at a much more low-key pace, except where serving others came into play. Raised on Christian principles, Chief joined the Genesis Project on 12th Street and was a life member from its inception.
Chief is survived by his sons, Skyler (Chantel Fain), Ogden; Tyson (Jae) Parker, Clarksville, TN; three grandchildren, Jace, Ryder, and Gabriel; siblings, Kelly (Kirt) Linford, Ogden; Julie (Wayne) Bell, Roy; and his beautiful dog, Sally. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
