Sue M. Schneiter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away November 13, 2008, at age 71, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 29, 1937, in Vernal, Utah, to J. Wayland and LaPreal Mattsson. Sue''s family later moved to Ogden where she was educated in the Ogden City School District. She married Ernie Schneiter Jr. on November 23, 1955, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Twin Falls Idaho for 2 years after their marriage and then returned to Ogden where they lived and raised their family. Sue''s greatest joys and accomplishments were her children. She was always concerned about their welfare and looked for ways to improve their lives and make them happy. Her selfless service was second to none. She will be remembered by her family for having a positive outlook on life and sharing joy and happiness with others. She was our strength and pillar. One of her fondest memories was the opportunity to have so many close friends and acquaintances. She remained close friends throughout her life with a group of women whose friendship began in elementary school. On a trip a few years ago one gentleman on the bus asked them if they were the retired Rockettes. She worked in the clothing business for many years in Ogden and Salt Lake making many great friends and creating an unparalleled environment conducive to excellent customer service. She had a sense of style and was always the example of true elegance. Working in sales and buying, she was employed by The Lady and The Gentry and Nordstrom. She played an active role in the operations of Schneiter''s Riverside and Schneiter''s Bluff Golf Courses. She was an active member of the Shadow Ridge LDS ward and over the years served in the Primary, Relief Society and Young Womens Program. Sue is survived by her husband Ernie, of 53 years, brothers Burke (Caroline) Mattsson of Hacienda Heights, CA., and Dr. Carl (Marty) Mattsson of South Ogden. She is also survived by her children; Brett (Sue) of Riverdale; Julie of South Ogden; Jon (Lisa) of West Point; and Lori (Jeff) Abbott of Riverdale; and her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her parents preceded her in death. The family would like to express their profound gratitude for all the loving care given to Mom from McKay-Dee Hospital and Staff, and Pine View transitional rehab center. We want to give special thanks to her brother, Dr. Carl Mattsson, for his love and concern during her illness. There are many whose thoughtfulness and concern touched our hearts. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel on 1591 Old Post Road, located one block east of 5500 S. Harrison Blvd. on Shadow Valley Dr.
