August 30, 1973 - January 6, 2017
Supatra "Sue" Small, 43, of Herriman, Utah, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on January 6, 2017 at the University of Utah Hospital after a courageous battle with Lupus. She was born August 30, 1973 in Bangkok, Thailand, the daughter of Charles and Nitaya Small.
Sue graduated from Roy High School and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Utah. She was employed as a Social Worker at the Division of Child & Family Services in Salt Lake City. Sue truly enjoyed her work and chose this profession so she could help others and make a difference.
Her daughter, Brooklyn, was her best friend and the center of her universe. She enjoyed spending every minute with Brooklyn, especially watching her at cheerleading practice and competitions. Sue was an avid Kobe Bryant and Lakers fan. She also loved the Cowboys and enjoyed giving her brother Sam a hard time when they beat the Redskins. Sue loved spending time with her friends and family, watching movies and playing the slots in Wendover.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Brooklyn Rapp of Herriman, Utah; parents, Charles and Nitaya Small of Roy, Utah; two brothers, Dick (Natalie) Holtzclaw of Las Vegas, Nevada and Samuel (Stacie) Small of West Point, Utah; uncle, William (Nancy-Anne) Small of Levant, Maine; aunt, Ann (Victor) Mesenzeff of Beavercreek, Ohio; niece, Krissanee (Tim) McCullough of Las Vegas, Nevada; nephew, Dhanai Holtzclaw of Los Angeles, California; and ex-husband, Norm Rapp of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Floyd and Ruth Small of Brewer, Maine.
The family will meet with friends at an open house on Saturday, January 14, 2017 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.
