Susan Kay Lannefeld Franks

Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Susan Kay Lannefeld Franks, passed away in her home on Friday, February 24, 2023.

Susan is survived by her loving husband, David Franks; children, Kimberley (Darrin) Matheson, Larry (Kris) Ward, Jennefer (Darrin) Haymond, Carol (Pete) Menzies, and Heather Forest; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; brother, John Steven (Shirley) Lannefeld; sisters, Sharon Thomas, and Sandra (Stephen) Morgan. She was preceded in death by her father, John Phillip Lannefeld; mother, Donna Gwendolyn Poage; and granddaughter, Ashley Matheson.

Susan lived many places throughout her life. Her creative imagination, friendliness, courage, compassion, and easy-going attitude helped her make friends wherever she went. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held many callings and taught her children the value of service, unconditional love, and forgiveness. Susan enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, quilting, drawing, painting, singing, and playing games. 

Family was very important to Susan. Her brother and sisters were her best friends, and she was often organizing family dinners, picnics, and holiday celebrations. She was always there when her husband and children needed anything. She loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Susan was a wonderful storyteller and she loved sharing her memories with all her family. 

Her family is grateful for the time they had to be with her in this life and look forward to the day when they can be with her again. 

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah 84401. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah 84401.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial luncheon on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at 1:00PM at the Clearfield North Stake Center, 151 North 1000 West, Clearfield, Utah 84015.
