Susan Emma Glauser

OGDEN- Susan Emma Glauser was born July 5, 1956, in Portland, Oregon, to Alfred Junior and Betty Lee Andersen Glauser. She passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 18, 2008, in Ogden, Utah, her death the result of years of health challenges. An evidence of God''s tender mercies, Susie''s passing came on a day when much of her family already was gathered in Utah for a great family event.

Perhaps the key defining event in Susie''s life occurred in July 1968, when at the age of 12 she contacted encephalitis while living with her family in Uganda, East Africa. That illness caused brain and nerve damage to Susie''s already frail body and required her to take various medications for the next 40 years to control severe seizures. Throughout her life she experienced injuries from many falls, yet she always bounced back and could be counted on for a smile. Susie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and took her faith in Christ very seriously.

"Even this mortal shall put on immortality, and this corruption shall put on incorruption... "

Susie is survived by her parents, Ogden; brothers, Alfred Paul (Vickie), Draper; and David Lee (Daphna), Medford, Oregon; twelve nieces and nephews, and numerous grandnieces and nephews and many friends, all of whose lives were made better by the example of Susie''s life.

Thanks to the staff of the Wide Horizons Care Center in Ogden, and to Shellie Simmons and her staff at Development Training Systems, Inc., where Susie worked, for their loving attention to Susie in her later years. Thanks also to the caring people at McKay-Dee Hospital Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
