Susan Elaine Shay McCrindle was born July 14, 1949 to William Wallis and Lois Layton Shay. She was called home Friday, June 1, 2018.

She met the love of her life, John William Benton McCrindle and was married April 26, 1968, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. Through this union they have been blessed with five children.

Sue was one of twelve children and moved from Utah to California in her youth.

She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many capacities from YW Presidencies, Primary teacher, Cub Scout den leader, Sunday School teacher and Visiting teacher.

Sue is survived by her husband, John W.B.; children, John (RuthAnn), Thomas, Tamerah (Chris), Christopher (Christie), Jessica; nine siblings, Russel (Judy) Shay, Karen Bolton, John (Sharon) Shay, Nancy (Johannes) Ruegner, Frank (Peggy) Shay, Lynn (Dean) Farrington, Patrick Shay, Mary (Terry) Elwell, Brenda (Don) Zobell; brother-in-law, Robert (Ellen) McCrindle and many nieces and nephews. Her greatest joys were her 11 grandkids, Bradley, Ashlyn, Madsion, Megan, Ariahna, John David, Amirah, Samantha, Evangeline, Clara, and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Kathy and Mike and one grandson, Christopher.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at the Sunset Stake Center, 220 West 975 North. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Following the services, there will be a light luncheon provided for friends and family to celebrate Sue’s life.

Interment, West Point Cemetery, 80 North 4000 West at 3 p.m.
