Susi Parker Garoutte. Born February 20, 1960, and lovingly adopted by William and Jean Parker. She grew up in the Hooper area.
My Mom,
What an amazing woman she was. Mom was definitely not shy, to the point of embarrassment at times. Now that she is gone, next time we are waiting to get seated at a restaurant as a family, and I don’t need to go find her from targeting a family to talk to, that it’s not going to feel right.
Everybody loved her; from the nurses and doctors that have helped take care of her for the last year, to the old school truckers that would check up on her, to her housekeepers that helped do what she wasn’t able to. To her neighbors surrounding her and watching out for her. Old friends and people from the past. My mom loved everyone and had the most kind, loving and accepting heart.
My mom never wanted to be a burden to anyone and was constantly worried about that. It was the total opposite mom; you were something special, that left a special imprint in anyone that you came in contact with.
She was definitely mine and Alisha’s closest confidant, cheerleader, support system and friend. We love you Mom. We will get it figured out, I promise. You taught us well.
We will have a viewing to visit and remember her on Thursday, January 25th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Layton Lindquist Mortuary and a family burial Saturday, January 27th at 10:00 am at the Hooper Cemetery, 5301 S 6300 W, Hooper.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to do something kind for someone, reach out to a loved one or friend, or make/share a meal with someone you love or needs a little love.
