Our beloved mother, sister, and friend Sue was taken from us on January 16, 2023. Sue was at heart a Jersey girl, born and raised in Woodbury, New Jersey. Sue was born to Ray Roth and Marie McKay Roth on May 7, 1962. She spent her youth in Belmar, New Jersey with her siblings Brian and Sandy, surrounded by many close relatives.
She moved to Centerville, Utah during her high school years so that her father could continue his work with Eastern Airlines in Salt Lake City. Sue attended Viewmont, High School and after graduating attended Cosmetology School, where she received her license. While going to cosmetology school, she met David Price and was later married. Sue and David attended Utah State University (USU) where she studied Interior Design and Horticulture. She excelled at USU and loved studying creative arts. Soon after attending USU, they moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where Sue began her happiest and greatest project of becoming a Mom.
In Santa Fe, she left her career to be with her two children Mason and Amanda. She could not imagine being away from her kids for a single day. She loved being a mother and being able to spend her days raising and playing with her two dear children. As the kids grew Sue wanted to be closer to her extended family, which brought everyone back to Centerville, Utah. She loved being a part of her children’s lives and watching them grow and excel. For the rest of her life, her children would remain her strongest bond and greatest love.
Throughout her life, she experienced many new changes and adventures. Her love for physical fitness grew stronger every day. This love allowed her to compete and succeed in many bodybuilding competitions. This effort and commitment also allowed her to help many others with their fitness journeys. Her love and passion spread to others, allowing for wonderful friendships. These friends brought joy and light into her life.
Sue had a passion for animals. They brought comfort, joy, and love into her life. There was never a day when they were not talked about and enjoyed.
Sue was preceded in death by her father, Ray Roth. She is survived by her sister Sandy Roth and brother Brian Roth; and her children Amanda Price and Mason Price (Abby McCarty). She is also survived by many loving extended family members who will also greatly miss her loving, spontaneous, and vibrant spirit. Sue loved and had a passion for life even through her many struggles and trials. Life will not be the same without her. She will be greatly missed by many.
A memorial gathering in Sue’s honor will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton Utah.
