Suzanne Adams Ray
Suzanne Adams Ray went home to her Father in Heaven on Sunday, March 30, 2014 after a short illness. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, treasured grandmother, caring aunt, doting great-grandmother, precious sister, and thoughtful friend.
Suzanne was born on the first day of Spring, March 21, 1935 to William (Dick) and Eva Riley Adams. From that day on, she has been a ray of sunshine to all who have been blessed to know her. She and her three sisters attended Davis High School. She was active in all school activities, loving each day there, especially after meeting her sweetheart, Larry.
Larry and Sue were married and sealed for time and all eternity on June 10, 1955. Sue was employed at Mountain Bell for several years before raising her three lovely daughters. She then worked side-by-side with Larry to make their business a success.
Suzanne's life was lived in devotion to her friends and especially her family. She was not only the matriarch, but the cornerstone. The Ray home was always filled with family and friends enjoying one of her home-cooked meals and goodies, and playing games. Suzanne was sweet in nature, but strong, and a fighter as well. She beat cancer three times and lived every day with unmatched energy and an unwavering spirit.
She was a wonderful homemaker and talented in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Suzanne was a member of the Clearfield Literary Club and had a vast love of reading.
She loved her Heavenly Father and Savior and spent most of her days extensively studying her scriptures and the words of the prophets. She loved the temple and recently completed a temple tour with her friends. She was truly an exemplary daughter of God. She walked with Him throughout her life. She served faithfully in all of her callings, including Primary President, Young Women's President, devoted Visiting Teacher, and for the past several years, on the Compassionate Service Committee.
Suzanne is beloved by her surviving family: husband, Larry; daughters, Carrie Sue (Jim) May, Holly Alyson (Brad) Lasater, and Heidi Rochelle (Kurt) Treasure; grandchildren, Justin (Jessie) May, Tyler (Sunni) May, Jared May, Todd May, Jordan May, Chelsi (Spencer) Johnston, Preston (Jessica) Lasater, Jake (Megan) McPhie, and Josh Treasure; nine great-grandchildren, and her sister, Sally (Cecil) Barton. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and many friends who are rejoicing to be with her once more.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Pioneer Ward, 1401 South Weber Drive, South Weber. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
