Sylva Ruth Stapley
December 15, 2004 ~ March 16, 2014
NORTH OGDEN - Sylva Ruth Stapley, our little Ray of Sunshine, was born in our home in Springville, Utah on December 15, 2004, to her parents Bradley D. and Rebecca Rhees Stapley. She spent her last waking moments in the loving arms of her sister and mother, and passed on March 16, 2014.
To Sylva, life was always a celebration. She shared her love of life with everyone as evident in her consistent gift-wrapping-and-giving something, anything to everyone, including total strangers while her eyes lit up her impish smile. Upon learning of her own "Sown Dyndrome" and that it was alright to be so blessed, she happily let everyone else know that they, too, had "Sown Dyndrome" just like her. She loved to dance and do acrobatics, play basketball, and cook. She was a regular Houdini and had her family always on the lookout for her escape attempts. Her time with us was short and intense, filled with love unfeigned. She had learned her lessons and had taught us all she could, and now it is her time to go back to her Heavenly home.
Sylva is survived by her parents, three brothers and three sisters; Stephen (Brianna) Stapley of San Antonio, Texas; Amanda (Ammon) Davis of Rexburg, Idaho; Cyndi (Anthony) Castillo of Boca Raton, Florida; Jessica Stapley, David Stapley and Jared Stapley of North Ogden, Utah; and her grandparents, Joe & Pat Stapley of St. George, Utah, Robert Rhees of La Verkin, Utah, and Jane (Valentine) Rhees of Ogden, Utah. She also is survived by many aunts and uncles, and by 33-and-counting cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Ogden 15th Ward Chapel, North Ogden Coldwater Stake, 770 East 2100 North. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
Sylva and her family would like to thank all those who had a part in caring for her throughout her life, both at home and at Primary Children’s Medical Center, McKay Dee Hospital, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center; from doctors, nurses, techs, therapists, EMT's & paramedics, to the drivers & pilots, we know she was truly in the hands of the best.
