LAYTON a€" Sylvia Forbes Child, 87, passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at Rocky Mtn. Care Center. She was born September 18, 1920 in Layton the daughter of John and Margaret Dunn Forbes.

Sylvia married Orville Dean Child on July 20, 1940 in Porterville, Utah. He preceded her in death on December 6, 1988.

She was a member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are her son Larry Ray Child, Layton; daughter Sherrin C. (Richard) Warren, Syracuse; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by her husband, two sons Michael Dean Child, Vern Ross Child, one daughter, Margaret Joan Crockett and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Layton Cherry Lane LDS chapel, 1015 North Emerald. Friends and family may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
